Building a career in the international business world takes more than a degree. It requires practical experience, an understanding of changing markets, and the ability to turn ideas into results. Suhail Ahmed's professional journey reflects this path, taking him from his early career in Pakistan to leading a California-based food company.
With an MSc in Digital Marketing from the University of Bedfordshire, Ahmed built his career around digital business and ecommerce. Rather than staying limited to one field, he gained experience working with consumer brands in different industries, including hair care, fitness, sports and wellness.
His professional journey began with an international haircare brand in 2018, where he handled Amazon and eBay operations across the US, Canada, UK and Europe. This gave him practical experience in international marketplaces, product listings, advertising and cross-border operations.
However, his ambitions went beyond managing online stores. In 2019, he joined as an Ecommerce Specialist for a Sports and Wellness company and was promoted to Head of Ecommerce within just five months. He eventually led a 12-member team, managing the company's Amazon, Shopify and wholesale operations. By the end of his tenure, the business was generating around $300,000 in monthly revenue.
While building his professional career, Ahmed also took a step towards entrepreneurship. In 2020, he founded ENKR, an ecommerce growth agency that works with consumer brands across North America and Europe. Through the agency, he helped businesses improve their online sales, advertising, product visibility and customer retention.
His next major opportunity came in 2022 when he joined California-based Hearthy Foods as Head of Ecommerce. Starting from a business generating around $30,000 per month, he helped develop its Amazon-led growth strategy and expand its sales across Shopify and Faire. The company reached approximately $3 million in annual revenue during his tenure in this role.
In September 2024, he was promoted to Chief Executive Officer, taking responsibility for the company's wider business strategy, operations, finances, product development and team management.
Under his leadership, Hearthy Foods closed 2025 with $5.27 million in annual revenue and a 30.5% gross margin. Today, the company sells functional food and wellness products, including collagen, protein powders, gluten-free flours and other health-focused products through its online platforms.
His agency has also shared a Hearthy Foods growth case study, reporting an 84% increase in subscribers and a 2.45% average real advertising cost of sales during a 13-month engagement.
Ahmed's story is not just about reaching a CEO position. It is about learning different parts of a business before taking responsibility for the whole operation. From managing product listings and advertising campaigns to leading teams, building an agency and making decisions for a US company, his career reflects how experience and business knowledge can open doors beyond geographical boundaries.
