While the officially announced petrol price is around Rs. 414 to Rs. 417 per litre, several consumers claim they are being charged Rs. 2 to Rs. 5 extra at certain pumps compared to others in the city.
According to customers, some fuel stations are strictly following the government-notified rates, while others are adding higher charges under different justifications. Dealers argue that transportation expenses, operational costs, service standards, and profit margins can influence the final price being charged at individual stations. However, many vehicle owners believe such variations should not exist when official fuel prices are already set nationwide.
