Good News for Gamers! Dubai Unveils Gaming Visa, Here’re the Details

Content creators worldwide have a promising new opportunity in Dubai with the introduction of the innovative Gaming Visa Initiative. This initiative aims to attract talent to the gaming industry by offering employment and training opportunities. Dubai is collaborating with leading companies and academic institutions to roll out long-term cultural visas targeted at skilled individuals, artists, and creators.

Operating under the Creative and Talented Accreditation Certificate, this initiative signifies Dubai’s commitment to fostering growth in the creative industry. It aligns with Dubai’s ambitious Program for Gaming 2033, which aims to create 30,000 jobs and boost GDP by $1 billion.

To obtain the visa, applicants can follow a streamlined process on the official website. Upon submission, candidates receive email notifications regarding their application status. Applicants must meet specific criteria, including being at least 25 years old and providing essential documents such as a passport copy and professional CV.

Highlighting the initiative’s importance, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, and chairman of Dubai’s executive council, emphasized the goal of establishing an incubating environment for developers and attracting top tech firms worldwide. The program will provide support to developers, designers, programmers, entrepreneurs, and startups in the creative industries.

Dubai aims to emerge as a global gaming hub, with plans to secure a spot among the top ten cities for game companies by 2033. At the recent Dubai GameExpo Summit, CEO of the Dubai Economic Development Corporation and Abdulla AlGaoud, Director of Digital Operations at Dubai Chambers, unveiled a series of initiatives to foster growth in the gaming industry.

Both the UAE and Saudi Arabia governments are diversifying their revenue streams away from fossil fuels, exploring industries like gaming to drive economic growth and innovation.
