Google Plans to Make the Internet Globally Available with Wi-Fi Balloons

Ambitious endeavors are being taken and moved closer to reality by the world’s major tech giants. Broadening the horizons of innovative technology, the concept of beaming the internet down to Earth from the sky is no longer just a wild idea.

Google, SpaceX, and Facebook have proposed unique methods for this innovative idea. SpaceX with a constellation of satellites, Facebook with solar-powered drones, and Google’s Loon using stratospheric balloons.

Loon and SpaceX have made significant progress in actualizing these ideas. Google’s Loon Balloons recently debuted in Kenya, covering a vast area with 4G signals. While SpaceX has launched more than 500 Starlink satellites and seeking beta testers for its internet service.

These initiatives intend to reduce the gap in digital access, offering improved internet connectivity to areas lacking it. This effort could potentially revolutionize worldwide communication.
