Google’s Quantum Computer Just Made a Time Crystal

Google researchers claim to have demonstrated a true “time crystal” using Google’s quantum computer in partnership with scientists from Stanford, Princeton, and other universities.

A time crystal is an object whose components move in a regular, repeating cycle, maintaining this continual change without consuming any energy. It also introduces a new category of matter phases, broadening the concept of what constitutes a phase.
