Governor House of Punjab saves Rs13.6m under austerity drive in FY20

Following the PM’s austerity drive, the Punjab governor’s house also announces only to spend Rs2 million in the FY2020-21 even though the budget was Rs15.6 million. Thus, Governor Punjab Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar saved Rs13.6 million.

After the announcement made by Chaudhry Sarwar, the visitors at the Governor House Punjab are only being offered tea with biscuits. 

The governor has directed the staff to further minimize the expenses. Said the sources.

According to the official sources, the Governor of Punjab used to check monthly expenses of the house, which helped him in reducing the quantity and saving a lot of money

As per the official reports, In September 2020, the present PTI government reduced the expenses up to 68 percent ,of the Prime Minister (PM) House under its austerity measures. PM Khan fulfilled his promises of adopting austerity measures, after making a record cut in PM House’s expenses by 68 percent. And over the last two years. The expenses of staff and other expenditures of the PM House were reduced from over Rs500 million to Rs310.
