Governor Sindh Kamran Tessori Announces Free Motorbikes, Phones for Street Crime Victims in Karachi

Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori has unveiled a series of initiatives aimed at addressing social issues and providing support to those affected by street crimes in Karachi. One notable announcement involves the distribution of free motorbikes and cellphones to individuals who have fallen victim to street crimes, specifically those who have had motorcycles stolen. To avail of this offer, individuals are required to present their original Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs) and First Information Reports (FIRs) at the Governor House.

The governor emphasized the need for collective efforts in resolving national issues and expressed confidence that contributions from everyone can make a significant impact. Highlighting the severity of the issue, Tessori revealed that over 1,700 motorcycles were stolen in Karachi in the preceding year.

In addition to the distribution of motorbikes and cellphones, Tessori announced the issuance of health insurance cards that would provide coverage of up to Rs500,000 for medical treatment, benefiting both individuals and their families. This initiative is positioned as a means to address healthcare challenges faced by the masses.

The governor also underscored his commitment to public welfare by detailing previous efforts, such as providing ration to 250,000 people and hosting iftar for 300,000 individuals at the Governor’s House. Furthermore, Tessori disclosed the completion of preparations for free IT courses, which are set to be launched soon, offering an avenue for skill development and education.

Notably, Tessori asserted that he has not made any demands from anyone during his tenure in the past 15 months. Overall, these initiatives reflect a multifaceted approach by the Sindh governor to tackle issues of street crimes, healthcare, and education, demonstrating a commitment to addressing the challenges faced by the community in Karachi.
