Govt Approves Rs. 128 Billion for Public Relief, PM Shehbaz Sharif

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said the federal government provided Rs. 128 billion in relief to protect the public from the impact of rising fuel prices and inflation. The amount was used to reduce pressure on consumers during the period of sharp increases in global oil prices.

He made the statement while addressing a federal cabinet meeting. The amount was arranged by cutting funds from the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP). This step helped the government manage the sharp increase in prices and reduce the pressure on ordinary citizens.

Shehbaz Sharif credited both federal and provincial governments for working together to protect citizens from the economic impact. He said the government also worked to keep fuel available in the country while other countries faced shortages and long queues.

He also said future economic gains would be shared with the public as regional conditions improve. He stressed that a return to normal global conditions is important to keep this progress going.
