A government school in Sindh has brought pride to Pakistan by reaching the global top 10. Govt Girls Lower Secondary School Tando Mir Ghulam Hussain in Hyderabad has been selected as one of the top 10 finalists in the Community Collaboration category of the World’s Best School Prizes 2026. The prizes are presented by T4 Education, a respected international organisation.
Sindh Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah called it a proud moment for the province and the country. He praised the school’s strong work in building community ties, running awareness campaigns, and using innovative STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths) activities for students’ overall growth.
Thousands of schools from around the world applied this year. After careful review by experts, only 10 schools per category were chosen as finalists. Pakistan has two schools in the list, a government school from Sindh and a private school from Punjab.
The World’s Best School Prizes honour excellent schools in five areas: community collaboration, environmental action, innovation, overcoming adversity, and supporting healthy lives. These awards highlight the best practices in education globally.
Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and the education minister congratulated the school’s principal, teachers, students, parents, and the local community. They said this success shows the potential of government schools and inspires the entire education system in Pakistan.
