Govt Sets Up Task Force to Develop Roadmap for Rapid Adoption of AI

To further the objective of national development, Ahsan Iqbal, Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives, on Friday established a 15-member National Task Force (NTF) on Artificial Intelligence (AI).

The National Task Force’s main goal, according to state-run radio station Radio Pakistan, is to create a 10-year strategy for accelerating the adoption of artificial intelligence in the business, development, governance, education, and healthcare sectors.

Artificial intelligence specialists, as well as representatives from the public and business sectors, would make up the task force. According to the planning minister, artificial intelligence will revolutionise the domains of economy, governance, and education and is crucial for advancement in the near future.

According to him, the NTF aims to harness AI’s power for Pakistan’s development and growth and to make sure that its advantages are felt by all facets of society.

According to Ahsan Iqbal, the NTF is a component of the government’s commitment to utilising IT’s potential and changing the economic climate of the nation. According to him, Pakistan can better the lives of its people and open up new doors for growth and development by investing in AI.

The PML-N administration established the National Centre for Artificial Intelligence in 2018. The minister stated that Pakistan could enhance the lives of its inhabitants by investing in AI and opening up new avenues for growth and development.

“The integration of AI in our governance, healthcare, and educational systems has the potential to revolutionise these sectors and bring about significant progress,” he continued.

Ahsan Iqbal emphasised that AI might provide answers that were previously unreachable, from increasing learning experiences to personalising medical treatments.
