Govt to Develop 10 Villages as Model Rural Tourism Destinations

Aftab ur Rehman Rana, the Managing Director of Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC), announced that PTDC has chosen 10 villages in Pakistan as exemplary rural tourism destinations.

These villages have been recognized by the United Nations World Tourism Organization as some of the best tourist villages. The United Nations World Tourism Organization has initiated the Global Best Tourism Village project to highlight the significance of tourism in supporting and safeguarding rural villages and their associated landscapes.

According to Aftab ur Rehman, rural tourism plays a vital role in encouraging local communities to revive and preserve their cultural traditions, craftsmanship, traditional festivals, architectural heritage, and other distinctive practices.
