Grade 9 Matric Tech students now eligible for PM Chromebook scheme

Grade 9 Matric Tech students at government technical and vocational institutions affiliated with the Punjab Board of Technical Education can now apply for the Prime Minister’s Youth Chromebook Scheme, according to ARY News.

Applicants must have secured more than 50 per cent marks. The eligibility covers students in the specified Matric Tech stream at government institutions affiliated with the board.

Eligible students can register through the scheme’s official application portal. They should review the requirements and application details before submitting their applications.

Education officials said its purpose was to expand access to digital learning across Pakistan, where owning a laptop remains beyond the reach of many students.

Ministry officials said selection would reward academic results rather than recommendations, with devices intended to reach students across every province and region, from major cities to smaller education boards.

Madaris students would undergo separate vetting with the Directorate General of Religious Education, officials said. Application guidance published by pak-all-job.com on 3 November 2026 identifies the Inter Boards Coordination Commission as the manager of the official portal, where students can check academic records and proceed with an application if eligible. It also advises applicants to prepare the required documents before completing the process.
