Hakla To D.I.Khan Motorway To Be Opened By October

After many government deadlines, the Hakla-DI Khan Motorway, an essential component of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor’s (CPEC) Western Route, will be open for traffic till the end of next month.

The Hakla-DI Khan Motorway will be available for traffic until the end of October. According to insiders, the Rs122 billion project has been hampered by a number of challenges, including a lack of funding.

The 280-kilometer project was supposed to be finished by the end of 2018, but it was pushed back. Murad Saeed, the Minister of Communications, told the Senate on May 27 that the CPEC project would be completed by September this year.

During the question hour session, he remarked, “89 percent of the project work has been completed; only bridges are being built; it will soon be open for traffic.”

The NHA officials elaborated on the project’s details, stating that it is separated into five parts. Package-1 of the project, which spans 55 kilometres, begins near DI Khan and ends at Rehmani Khel; Package-2 begins at Rehmanikhel and ends at Kot Belian I in Mianwali; Package-3 begins at Kot Belian and ends at Tarap; Package-4 begins at Tarap and ends at Pindi Gheb; and Package-5 begins at Pindi Gheb and ends at Hakla.
