Due to an injury incurred during the current Test series, Pakistan pacer Haris Rauf will be unable to bowl in the remaining first Test against England, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) stated on Sunday.
Rauf has a strain in his right quad after he rolled over the ball while fielding on the first day of the match in Rawalpindi.
However, the board said that the right-arm pacer will be available to bat during the match. Earlier on Friday, Rauf underwent magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) at the hospital.
Rauf is among four players who made their debuts for Pakistan during the ongoing Test match. Along with the speedster, other debutants include the leg-spinner Zahid Mehmood, the batsman Saud Shakeel, and the pacer Mohammad Ali.Â
This is the first time since 2003, against Bangladesh in Karachi, that Pakistan has handed Test caps to four players in a single match.
During the Bangladesh Test nearly two decades ago, Mohammad Hafeez, Umar Gul, Shabbir Ahmed, and Yasir Hameed made their debuts for the national side.
