Heavy Rain in Rawalpindi, Islamabad! Roads & Underpasses Flooded with Water

Heavy rainfall caused waterlogging across parts of Islamabad and Rawalpindi, disrupting traffic and making travel difficult for residents in several areas.

Intense showers resulted in significant water accumulation on major roads, streets and underpasses. Some low-lying areas were also affected as drainage systems struggled to handle the volume of rainwater.

The conditions led to slower traffic, with motorists facing difficulty while passing through waterlogged routes. Several commuters were forced to take extra care as visibility and road conditions became challenging during the heavy downpour.

While the rainfall provided relief from the recent heat, it also exposed ongoing challenges related to urban drainage and road infrastructure in the twin cities. Areas that are more vulnerable to water accumulation remained under concern as further rain was possible.

Authorities and emergency response teams continued monitoring the situation and remained prepared to respond if conditions worsened. Residents were advised to limit unnecessary travel, particularly through flooded roads and underpasses.

Motorists were also urged to drive carefully, maintain a safe distance from other vehicles and avoid routes where water levels had risen significantly.

Officials continued to monitor weather conditions and advised residents to stay informed through reliable weather and traffic updates.

The latest spell of heavy rain has once again highlighted the importance of effective drainage systems and proper urban planning in Islamabad and Rawalpindi. As the possibility of additional rainfall remains, residents in vulnerable areas are being encouraged to remain cautious and follow safety instructions.
