Here’s How Can you Apply for Financial Support of 8400 Dirhams in UAE

UAE authorities have announced that farm owners with limited income can now access financial support totaling 8400 Dirhams.

They unveiled the details of the support scheme in response to a directive issued by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President. Moreover, the directive instructed the Ministry of Community Development (MoCD) and Etihad Water and Electricity to alleviate the financial burdens experienced by farm owners, particularly concerning utility bills. The support program will be implemented in July.

Application Process for Financial Support

The scheme will give each beneficiary an annual electricity subsidy of Dh8,400. This subsidy is equivalent to a maximum consumption of 2,500 kw/h per month. Beneficiaries can check their farms’ consumption bill through Etihad Water and Electricity’s service channels to determine the monthly support amount. Furthermore, the ministry will collaborate with the utility authority to validate and establish the approved lists of beneficiaries.

Beneficiaries will receive text messages that contain detailed information and an application form that they need to complete. Alternatively, they can register on the MoCD’s website.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the support

  • Farm owners must be registered in a federal or local social welfare program and have low-income status.
  • It is important to note that farms used for commercial purposes will not be eligible.
  • Farm owners should not receive additional support for electricity consumption on any of their owned farms.
  • If a beneficiary owns multiple farms, they must update their data with Etihad Water and Electricity.
  • Upon finalizing and approving the list of beneficiaries, the ministry will directly transfer the deducted amount to Etihad Water and Electricity.

The government aims to ease the financial strain by offering an annual electricity subsidy of 8400 Dirhams. Moreover, this initiative underscores the commitment of UAE authorities to support and uplift its citizens during challenging times.
