Here’s How Much Money You Can Earn by Driving Taxi in Dubai?


If you possess good physical fitness, clear vision, quick reflexes, some education, and driving experience with road ethics, you meet the eligibility requirements to become a taxi driver in Dubai and earn a living.

The salary you can expect as a full-time taxi driver in Dubai depends on the number of hours you work per month. On average, it ranges between AED 3,200 to AED 7,350 per month, which is approximately AED 30 per hour if you work 8 hours a day for 30 days without breaks.

To drive a taxi in Dubai, you need to have

Obtaining a Dubai Taxi Driver Permit:

Additionally, you must meet certain requirements, including a physical and eyesight examination to renew your Dubai driving license, clear the Dubai driving foundation test, hold a UAE driving license (LTV), provide sponsor details, and present a non-criminal certificate.

UAE Driving License Requirement:

A UAE driving license is necessary to apply for a taxi driving permit in Dubai. You will first need to obtain a valid UAE driving license for a Light Transport Vehicle (LTV) and then apply for the taxi driving permit at RTA Dubai.

To obtain the license, you will be required to submit documents such as your passport or ID, two photographs, a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from your sponsor, an eyesight and physical fitness certificate, the application fee, and a copy of your UAE residence permit or visa.

Cost of Obtaining a UAE Driving License:

The cost of applying for a UAE driving license varies based on your age. If you are under 21 years old, the fee is approximately 100 dirhams, while for those above 21 years old, it is around 300 dirhams. Additionally, there is an additional charge of 15 dirhams for the delivery of your license.
