Here’s How You Can Get Driving License from Any City of Pakistan

The most populous region of the country, Punjab, has introduced a new system that allows citizens to apply for a driving license in any city within the province. The Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Traffic announced this development, stating that it has been implemented to make the process easier for the public.

Previously, individuals were required to obtain a driving license from the district where they held their domicile. However, under the new system, citizens are now permitted to apply for a license in any city across Punjab.

To obtain a driving license, applicants can use the Driving License Issuance Management System (DLIMS) to apply for Private, LTV (Light Transport Vehicle), and PSV (Public Service Vehicle) licenses. Before applying for the main license, a learning permit is the initial step.

In order to acquire a Private Driving License, applicants must pass a driving test. During this test, a designated staff member observes the driver to assess their understanding of traffic laws and their ability to operate a vehicle safely.

The prerequisites for obtaining a driving license include a learner’s permit, a photocopy of the applicant’s CNIC (Computerized National Identity Card), two passport-size photographs, and a bank receipt of PKR 100 from any branch of Habib Bank Limited (HBL).
