Here’s What PTA Says About Social media Restoration in Pakistan

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has announced that no decision has been made thus far regarding the reopening of popular social media sites in the country.

While mobile broadband services have been fully restored nationwide without any restrictions on internet access, platforms such as YouTube, Twitter, and Facebook remain inaccessible to users.

The temporary suspension of social media platforms came in the wake of violent protests led by workers of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party, who were demonstrating against the arrest of former Prime Minister Imran Khan. As a result, the PTA took the step to restrict access to these platforms throughout the country.

However, the PTA has clarified that a final decision has not been reached regarding the lifting of the ban on social media sites. The authorities are still assessing the situation and considering various factors before making a determination on the reopening of these platforms.
