How to Get Admission in Army Medical College- Step to Step Guide

Army Medical College (AMC) is a prestigious institution in Pakistan that offers a wide range of medical courses to students who aspire to join the army as doctors. If you’re interested in joining the AMC, here is a step-by-step guide on how to get admission.

Eligibility Criteria:

  1. The candidates should be 17 to 25 years old
  2. The candidates willing to get admission to Army Medical College should be unmarried
  3. The candidates should have qualified F.Sc (pre-medical) or equivalent certification in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
  4. There must be at least 70 percent marks of the candidates who want to get Army Medical College admission both in matriculation and F.Sc
  5. Willing candidates should be Pakistani citizens. In the case of holding dual nationality, the candidates have to surrender one during the selection of the army.

Eligibility Criteria For Medical Cadets

  • Must have a 60% score in F. Sc. (Pre-medical) or HSSC.
  • Allowed to try for Army three times only.
  • If marked as permanently unfit for the Army in Medical examination, you will not be given another chance.

How to Apply:

Registration for Army Medical Cadet Batch will commence from the 8th of June to the 15th of July 23.

  • Online registration for admission into Army Medical College (Rawalpindi, Quetta, Karachi, Multan, Lahore, Kharian, and Bhawalpur) for 47 MBBS / 25 BDS courses (Entry 2023) will start from 8 Jun to 15 Jul 2023.
  • Age: 17-21 Yrs as on 01 Nov (relaxable for 3 months both upper & lower).
  • Education: FSc (Pre-Med) with min 70% Mks. Candidates who cleared part-1 (70% mks) can apply on hope cert).
  • A preliminary test (Written/Int/ Personality) will be held from 19-27 Jul 2023.

Initial Test:

The initial test for admission into Army Medical College consists of a written examination covering the compulsory subjects of pre-medical. Physical Test:

The test mentioned refers to the physical fitness assessment. During this evaluation, candidates undergo a thorough examination to determine their physical capabilities and stamina, ensuring they are well-prepared to undergo the rigorous training at the Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) in the future. It is essential for candidates to demonstrate proficiency in the following tasks, as physical fitness should not hinder their progress:

The physical fitness assessment examines various aspects of a candidate’s fitness level, including cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength, and overall physical stamina. It may involve activities such as running, endurance tests, push-ups, sit-ups, and other exercises that assess the candidate’s physical endurance and capabilities.

Medical Test:

The primary focus of these medical tests is to assess the candidate’s overall health and well-being. Candidates are required to undergo a series of medical examinations conducted at a designated hospital to ensure they are in good health and free from any underlying medical conditions.

The interview serves as a means to assess the holistic personality of a cadet. It is a conversational process designed to gain insight into the candidate’s mindset, perspectives, and overall character. It is important to note that medical cadets also undergo the Inter Services Selection Board (ISSB) process.

NUMS Cadet Course Online Registration:

ll this is an online process. You will have to follow these steps for getting yourself registered.

  • Go to the official website of NUMS
  • Search “Registration” and click on it for the NUMS entry test
  • Fill in the form and select your test center among Rawalpindi, Lahore, Multan, Peshawar, Bahawalpur, Karachi, Dera Ismail Khan, and Gwadar.
  • Click on the registration button
  • Here, you will be able to generate the challan of PKR 3000 with your name on it. Download and print it and pay it in any HBL bank
  • Send the printed form and paid voucher to “National Testing Service (NUMS Project) plot 96, Street 4, Sector H-*/1, Islamabad.

On the day of the test, ensure that you arrive at the designated center punctually. It is crucial to bring along the original CNIC or B form with your photograph, a printed copy of the admit card or roll number slip, a clean clipboard, and all the necessary stationery items.

After the examination, you can easily access the answer keys on the organization’s website on the next working day. Alternatively, you may need to wait for approximately a week after the exam for the results to be generated and published on the website.

Procedure for Foreign Students:

Dual nationality holders are eligible to apply under certain conditions. These conditions include having completed 12 years of education under the federal board, possessing a British Council or British General Certification of Education (A-Levels), or presenting a Cambridge higher school certification if applying as an overseas student.

In addition, candidates with foreign national high school qualifications must have scored a cumulative 60% in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.

If eligible, candidates can choose to apply for the NUMS test. Alternatively, they can opt for the SAT-II exam. In either case, the subjects required are Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, with a minimum score of 550 for each subject. Another option is to pass the Foreign MCAT with an aggregate score of 500 out of 528 or higher.
