Authorities in Israel have issued urgent safety advisories after large swarms of bees were reported in several urban areas. Officials said that tens of thousands of bees suddenly appeared in different locations, creating concern among residents and businesses.
People living and working in affected areas have been instructed to stay indoors and keep their doors and windows closed to avoid contact with the bees. Authorities warned that disturbing the swarms could lead to stings, which may be dangerous, especially for those who are allergic.
Videos shared on social media showed thick clouds of bees flying around buildings, cars, and shop fronts. In some clips, the swarms appeared so dense that they reduced visibility in certain spots. Many of these incidents were reported in and around Tel Aviv, one of the country’s busiest urban centers.
Experts believe that such swarming behavior can happen when bee colonies grow too large and split, sending a group of bees to find a new place to settle. Weather conditions and seasonal changes can also play a role in this behavior.
Emergency services and local authorities are working to manage the situation and ensure public safety. Beekeepers and pest control teams have been called in to safely remove or relocate the swarms without harming them.
