US Vice President JD Vance recently said he has spoken to Pakistan’s Field Marshal Asim Munir more than anyone else in the last three months. He made this comment while talking about Pakistan’s help in important talks.
Field Marshal Asim Munir, Pakistan’s powerful army chief and Chief of Defence Forces, was promoted to this high rank in May 2025 after the India-Pakistan conflict. He played a key role as a mediator in high-level US-Iran talks held in Islamabad.
Vance joked that two very important people in his life are an Indian (his wife) and a Pakistani (Field Marshal Munir). He thanked Munir and Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for their efforts in peace talks. Vance called Munir a great military leader and skilled diplomat.
This shows growing US-Pakistan ties. Pakistan helped bring both sides together during tense times in the Middle East. All, around the world many see Munir’s work as important for stopping bigger conflicts.
