IBA Karachi and DHA Islamabad-Rawalpindi have taken a major step toward expanding access to higher education in the capital region with the groundbreaking of IBA Karachi’s new Islamabad Campus in DHA Islamabad Phase 5.
The ceremony was attended by IBA Karachi Executive Director Dr S. Akbar Zaidi along with representatives from DHA Islamabad. The new campus is expected to create greater educational opportunities for students from Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the northern areas.
The planned campus will feature a range of academic and student-focused facilities. These include an academic block, research block, library, auditorium, sports facilities and residential accommodation for students.
The project is designed to bring IBA Karachi’s academic environment closer to students in the northern part of the country while providing access to modern educational resources and facilities.
Dr S. Akbar Zaidi highlighted the importance of academic excellence, research and human capital development as key areas of focus for the new campus. He also emphasized leadership development and the need to build stronger connections between universities and the business and industrial sectors.
The campus is expected to provide a platform where students can develop both academic knowledge and practical skills while gaining exposure to research and leadership opportunities.
The collaboration between IBA Karachi and DHA Islamabad-Rawalpindi also reflects growing efforts to expand quality education beyond traditional university locations.
Once completed, the Islamabad Campus could become an important educational hub for students across the region. With its planned academic, research, residential and recreational facilities, the project aims to create an environment that supports learning, innovation and personal development.
The groundbreaking marks the beginning of a new chapter for IBA Karachi as it expands its presence and seeks to contribute to the development of future professionals and leaders in the region.
