Despite India’s reluctance to travel to Pakistan due to political concerns between the two countries, ICC Chairman Greg Barclay has announced that Pakistan will host the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy.
There is no reason for teams not to tour Pakistan, according to Barclay, because there is no security threat in the region, and the ICC will not have given Pakistan the hosting rights for a major tournament if they did not believe it was safe to travel there.
“We will not have given the event to Pakistan if we didn’t believe the country was capable of hosting it. For the first time in a long time, they will be able to host a world event, which we believe is an amazing opportunity for them. I’m confident that, as with many countries, they’ll put together adequate security arrangements to ensure the event’s success. We’re sure that it will go forward,” Barclay remarked.
