In 1st Aug 1960 – Islamabad was Declared Officially as the ‘New Capital’ of Pakistan.

Today is the day (1st August 1960 ) when Islamabad was declared Officially the new capital of Pakistan, previously Karachi was the first capital of Pakistan after Independence.

Islamabad and Rawalpindi are considered twin sisters, Islamabad is a well-planned city, with greeneries all around the city, towards the north side there is Margalla Hills, Islamabad also has rich wildlife ranging from wild boars to leopards.

A commission was accordingly set in motion in 1958, entrusted with the task of selecting a suitable site for the new capital with a particular emphasis on location, climate, logistics and defense requirements, aesthetics, and scenic and natural beauty.
