‘In 50-Over Format Pakistan Team are Just Average’, Harbhajan Singh

In a thrilling display of skill and determination, Pakistan’s Under-19 football team achieved a remarkable victory over the host nation, Nepal, in the SAFF Under-19 Football Championship. The match marked a strong start for Pakistan, with a final score of 1-0.

This win ends a 12-year-long victory drought for Pakistan in international matches. The last time Pakistan’s U19 team won on the international stage was in 2011 when they defeated India’s U19 team.

The lone and crucial goal of the match was expertly scored by Ali Zafar in the 76th minute, sparking celebrations among the Pakistani team and their passionate supporters. This pivotal goal secured Pakistan’s lead and ensured their triumph.

It’s noteworthy that Pakistan’s goalkeeper played a vital role in the victory by thwarting numerous relentless attacks from the Nepalese side, displaying exceptional skill and composure under pressure.

The tournament is taking place at the iconic Dashrath Stadium in Kathmandu. Pakistan’s next challenge will be against Maldives on September 23, at the same venue.

The 2023 SAFF U-19 Championship is the fifth edition of this international football competition for men’s under-19 national teams, organized by the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF). The championship is scheduled to be held from September 21 to September 30, with India as the defending champion.
