In Bhakkar, the PM announced the ‘fruitful’ outcomes of a billion tree plantation effort

Prime Minister Imran Khan expressed delight on Tuesday with the outcomes of a two-and-a-half-year tree-planting initiative in Bhakkar.

‘The greening of Pakistan is for future generations,’ Prime Minister Imran Khan said while showing a video contrasting the growth of saplings before and after the commencement of the programme.

Prime Minister Imran Khan announced on July 11 that the billion tree effort was producing amazing results as he shared a brief video of the ‘barren hills in Swat turning green.’

On June 27, the prime minister urged the country to prepare for “our largest tree-planting effort ever.”

“I want all Pakistanis, especially our youth, to get ready for the largest tree-planting effort in our history,” the prime minister stated on Twitter. “We have a lot of catching up to do.”

“And this monsoon season, we’ll be gearing up for our planting drive, which will be the largest in Pakistan’s history,” he continued.
