IT Ministry is spending Rs.30 billion on Internet & connectivity projects in the less developed areas
Member countries were briefed on the IT Ministry’s plans at a high-level virtual meeting held at the Ministry of Information Technology on World Telecommunication and Information Society Day.
Several projects worth over Rs. 30 billion are being launched under the Ministry of IT to provide cell phone connectivity and internet services in under-served and un-served areas of the world, according to the meeting.
The participants were also informed about the various policies approved by the cabinet in order to carry out the Prime Minister of Pakistan’s Digital Pakistan Vision. ITU representatives lauded Pakistan’s efforts and pledged their support. The Pakistani people are being linked to the digital world through a variety of programs and policies.
