Increase in Use of Digital Banking Apps Recorded in Pakistan during Pandemic

Banks in Pakistan are successfully offering the digital online banking services. During pandemic the use of digital apps for online banking increases; whereas the registered number of users for online banking in Pakistan has recorded a surged by 36% during pandemic.

According to the sources, for online net banking and loans, National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) is on the top that has the most credible and user-friendly bank services. However, the line to be on the top is followed by MCB and UBL in digital banking.

The commercial banks in Pakistan have great competition; however, the digital banking apps of these banks have enormous benefits with personal data safety and security.

The digital banking apps only operates with the personal account and OTP that is generated automatically for any transaction in order to keep the account safe. The other benefits of these apps include:

  • Online bill payment.
  • Speed and efficiency.
  • Low overhead can mean low fees.
  • Online payments for mobile recharge and utility bills
