The statistics revealed by the United Nations’ Population Division, India is now the World’s most populous nation, surpassing China.
The population growth in India has tapered off in general, it remains as the land homing to more than 1.425 billion people. According to the geographical point of view, India is almost three times smaller than China. Moreover, the population growth rate has touched 0.61% which is the lowest since 1960.
Overall, the population growth rate is less than many other countries including Morocco, Bangladesh, and Colombia, yet the country has become the most populous nation with the largest grantor of young working-age people studying and appointed globally. Only this age group accounts for almost 23% growth from 2020 to 2025.
