Ishaq Dar Refuses Tax Waiver on IT Exports

The government has rejected IT Industry’s demand for waiving Tax on its services but assured them to provide maximum facilitation and exemption from audit by authorities.

Finance Minister Ishaq Dar said there is only 0.25% tax which is very minimal. He said people should make a habit of paying taxes rather than seeking exemptions.

A tax of Rs2.5 on exports of Rs1,000 is “nothing”, Mr. Dar said.

He assured IT professionals that FBR won’t send tax notices on exporting services.
