Ishaq Dar, the finance minister of Pakistan, will be visiting the United States from April 10 to April 16 in order to attend the next annual spring meetings of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), according to sources.
According to ministry sources, the finance minister will travel with a strong delegation that includes the secretary of finance, Hamid Yaqoob, and the governor of the state bank of Pakistan, Jameel Ahmed.
During the visit, the delegation will have a separate meeting with IMF representatives, according to sources.
The finance minister will inform the foreign lending organisations about the government’s reforms.
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank, known as Breton Wood Institutions, will also be briefed about the economic discipline and progress in efforts to secure funding from friendly countries.
