As part of Prime Minister Imran Khan’s goal for a Clean Green Pakistan, Malik Amin Aslam, Pakistan’s Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Climate Change, launched the country’s first e-Taxi for northern districts.
According to Amin Aslam, the e-taxi driver will save Rs12,000 in the budget. According to Aslam, switching to e-taxi will save Pakistan Rs2 billion in oil imports while also providing economic benefits to drivers.
He congratulated Sapphire Group and Faisal Movers on their joint initiative, as they embrace the future in advanced mobility and sustainable growth. He said this at the launch of the first-ever electric vehicle taxi services in the hilly terrain of Northern areas, which was made possible by a joint venture between the two companies.
According to an engineer with the private company that created the e-taxi, the e-taxi could easily travel up to 250 kilometres with full battery charging.
