Israel Plans to Lay Railway Line that Could Link to Saudi Arabia

Israel is planning to build a massive rail expansion worth 100 billion shekels ($27 billion). This project will connect faraway places to the busy city of Tel Aviv. It may also lead to future connections between Israel and Saudi Arabia.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made this announcement after U.S. officials visited Saudi Arabia to discuss the possibility of forming formal relations between the two countries.

During a cabinet meeting, Netanyahu focused on infrastructure plans, including the “One Israel Project.” This initiative aims to cut travel time by train to important business and government areas to just two hours or less. The goal is to improve transportation and make it easier for people to move around the country.
