IT Minister Dr Umar Saif Inaugurates Pakistan’s First e-Rozgar Center

This Tuesday, the Caretaker Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunications, Dr. Umar Saif, officially opened the first e-Rozgar Center in collaboration with Excel Consulting Services in Pakistan.

The center boasts approximately 100 fully equipped workstations with advanced facilities tailored for freelancers. Excitingly, there are plans underway to expand the center to accommodate 300 workstations in the near future.

At the inauguration event, attended by numerous dignitaries and freelancers alike, Dr. Umar Saif, alongside Additional Secretary MoITT Ayesha Moriani and other officials, marked the beginning of a nationwide initiative to establish 10,000 e-rozgar centers.

Dr. Umar Saif underscored the center’s cutting-edge amenities, including high-speed internet, backup power supply, training facilities, private cabins, meeting rooms, and dedicated spaces for start-ups. He affirmed that this initiative fulfills the commitment to provide freelancers with optimal working conditions at affordable rates.

Furthermore, Dr. Umar Saif highlighted the potential impact of this initiative on the IT sector, projecting an annual increase of $10 billion in IT exports. He emphasized that through strategic partnerships, these centers would boost the capacity and income of freelancers.

Lastly, Dr. Umar Saif entrusted the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) with the task of providing technical support to these centers, ensuring their seamless operation and success.
