JAECOO has launched its all-electric J5 BEV in Pakistan with a basic variant priced at Rs 59.99 lakh, below the Rs 60.99 lakh starting price for Toyota’s third facelift of its 2014 model. The two entry prices put the vehicles close together for buyers considering a purchase around Rs 60 lakh.

The launch adds a Chinese electric vehicle to the choices facing Pakistani buyers in that price range, as Chinese automakers compete with established automotive companies. The comparison brings together JAECOO’s newly launched electric offering and Toyota’s latest update to an older model.

JAECOO’s J5 BEV was described in a 6 November 2026 announcement by Nishat Group’s NexGen Auto as Pakistan’s first locally assembled electric SUV. NexGen Auto, a Nishat Group subsidiary, assembles the vehicle locally. The Comfort variant has an ex-factory price of Rs 5,999,000 and a booking payment of Rs 1,200,000, while the Premium costs Rs 6,699,000 with a booking payment of Rs 1,500,000. The announced specifications include a 49.5 kWh battery and a driving range of up to 405 kilometres on a single charge under the NEDC measure.

JAECOO had opened bookings for both the Comfort and Premium versions by 6 November 2026, according to media reports, with deliveries scheduled to begin in January 2027. The Comfort’s booking payment is equivalent to Rs 12 lakh; the Premium’s Rs 66.99 lakh purchase price requires Rs 15 lakh at booking. The announced prices remain valid until 30 November 2026.
