Javed Afridi, the owner of JW Motors and MG Pakistan has announced the launch via a Facebook post of another new “SOLAR & EV Charging Station” project.
Nothing is known about the project till now, but it can be concluded from Afridi’s post that the new ZedCent Plug company would set up EV charging stations based on solar energy across Pakistan.
Although the government’s new EV policy encourages people to purchase EVs and convinces manufacturers to start manufacturing EVs in Pakistan by giving both parties various incentives, the infrastructure for charging EVs has always been questionable for the general public and the automakers.
In terms of Pakistan’s transition to an electric mode of transport, the launch of this new project may be a ray of hope. The setting up of its EV charging station network across the country will also be an exciting development for both automakers and other private energy vendors.
