Kaghan- Naran Road Closes Due to Melting of Huge Glacier

According to an official from the National Highway Authority (NHA), the Kaghan-Naran road has been closed for all types of traffic due to the melting of a massive glacier.

The NHA official stated that efforts to remove glaciers and clear the road are underway at Chitta Katha on Naran Road. Another large glacier at Guriya Chinch Naran has also blocked the route, and work will commence after it has been cleared.

Muhammad Saad, the spokesman for the Tourism Authority, advised tourists to exercise caution when visiting Kaghan and Naran valleys and to avoid traveling to Naran.

To ensure tourists’ safety, the district administration, NHA, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Tourism Department, Tourism Authority, and Kaghan Development Authority are working together to prioritize clearing the road of the melted glacier.

In case of any information or emergency, tourists can reach out to Tourism Helpline 1422. Regular updates on tourism awareness are also being shared on social media platforms by the Tourism Authority’s spokesperson.
