Kashmiri Student Returns Lost Foreign Currency Bag worth Rs. 4 Million to Owner

A 12-year-old girl set an excellent example of honesty when she returned a bag full of foreign currency to her owner in Kotli, Azad Kashmir.

Sixth-grader Samiya Batool, 12, was on her way to school when she found a bag at Nullah Baan’s in Sairy Khoi Ratta. She picked it up. When he got home, he told his parents about his discovery.

His family opened the bag and found many 4 million rupees worth of foreign currency notes and documents in the bag.

They immediately contacted the bag owner, whose whereabouts they learned from these documents.

The bag owner, Sohail Armani, was so pleased with Samiya Batool’s honesty that he gave the girl R100,000 as a reward for her honesty. She said she lost her bag five months ago.

In the pocket were foreign currency bills and his essential documents. He said he tried his best to find her bag but to no avail.

He said he almost gave up hope of finding her when he received a call from Samiya’s family telling him about their bag’s discovery.

He said he was really struck by the honesty of the girl, who was a great example of honesty despite coming from a humble background.
