According to the sources, Punjab Excise and Taxation Department had hired Khawaja siras for collecting taxes task from the citizens in Dera Ghazi Khan and they successfully & efficiently did their job.
Because of the unexpected & record accomplishment of this trial experiment, the dept has decided hired them to gather taxes all over Punjab.
DG Excise & Taxation, Saleha Saeed discussed the success during an interview with reporters and said that the dept will soon employ more Khawaja siras to their staff for collecting taxes throughout the province.
As per the officials, we get to know that the Excise & Taxation department has recorded income in abundance of Rs. 13 billion in the ongoing fiscal year, the vast majority of which had come from the enlistment of 850,000 vehicles and the related token tax.
As to enlistment and transfer of vehicles, all the concerned projects will be completed biometrically, & the registrations of vehicles with neglected token expenses will be suspended after 30 June.
