Khunjerab Pass to Reopen for Trade from 1st April, Closed Since 2019

From April 1, a key land border crossing between Pakistan and China is reopened after remaining closed for more than two and half years for trade activities.

In November 2019, Khunjerab Pass was closed due to coronavirus transmission between the countries. The pass was opened for the time being in July and September 2020 and then again in November so that the containers loaded with goods stranded in China could be easily transported.

The Stranded containers in China were then unpacked at Khunjerab Top instead of the port at Sost, during the temporary opening of the border.
