Khyber Medical University Bans Romantic Relationships Among Faculty, Students

Khyber Medical University (KMU) has banned intimate relationships between staff and students in accordance with the Higher Education Commission’s policy to curb harassment on campuses.

The policy extends to all constituent and affiliated colleges and institutions of KMU and applies to actions by students, faculty, staff, and other members of the higher education community.

The notification emphasizes that such relationships pose conflicts of interest, compromise professional judgment, and risk the credibility of the institution.

KMU maintains a zero-tolerance policy for harassment of any kind. Recent actions taken for violating this policy include expulsion, written reprimand, fines, and demotion of staff members.

Faculty members have been urged to disseminate the policy within their respective institute and administrative sections and ensure that all faculty, staff, and students are fully informed and comply with its provisions.
