Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Produced 49% of Pakistan’s Oil in August

In August 2026, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa contributed 49% of Pakistan’s total crude oil production, making it the country’s largest oil-producing province. Meanwhile, Sindh remained the leading producer of natural gas, accounting for 62% of the national output during the same period.

Pakistan’s overall crude oil production reached 68,600 barrels per day in August, marking a 10% increase compared with the same month last year. However, oil production declined by 5% compared with July, indicating a month-on-month slowdown.

Natural gas production also recorded growth, reaching 3,008 million cubic feet per day. The figure represented an 8% increase year-on-year and a 1% rise from the previous month.

The latest figures highlight the significant role of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Sindh in meeting Pakistan’s domestic energy needs, while also reflecting changes in the country’s oil and gas production trends.
