Lahore Bans Loader andQingqi Rickshaws onMajor Roads

Lahore Traffic Police has enforced a ban on the movement of loader rickshaws and Qingqi rickshaws on major city roads, including Canal Road, as part of efforts to improve traffic management and enhance road safety. Officials stated that the temporary relaxation granted during Eid-ul-Adha for the transportation of sacrificial animals has now been withdrawn, and regular traffic regulations have been restored.

To ensure strict implementation of the restrictions, additional traffic wardens and special enforcement squads have been deployed at key intersections and busy routes across the city. Authorities have warned that legal action, including the registration of criminal cases, will be taken against individuals found transporting steel bars, iron rods, and other hazardous materials on restricted roads.

The traffic police have also intensified operations against auto-rickshaws carrying passengers beyond their permitted capacity, citing safety concerns and the risk of accidents. The crackdown is part of a broader campaign aimed at reducing traffic congestion, preventing road mishaps, and providing a safer and more organized travel experience for commuters throughout Lahore.
