Lahore Becomes the First Polio-Free City of Pakistan

According to reports, Lahore has become the country’s first polio-free zone, marking a major victory in the fight against the debilitating virus.

The fifth environmental sample taken from the city for the poliovirus has tested negative, according to the Lahore deputy commissioner, who was speaking to journalists. He added that four environmental tests for the virus had previously tested negative.

He thanked the doctors, polio staff, and parents for their efforts in keeping the city polio-free.

On March 29, a five-day national polio eradication program began in the United States, with over 40.1 million children under the age of five being vaccinated.
