Lahore High Court (LHC) Has Issued an Order To Take Action against Publishing Inauthentic Copies of the Holy Quran

The Advocate General of Punjab (AGP) has been asked by the Lahore High Court (LHC) to discuss the execution of a judgement for the penalization of individuals involved in publishing unauthentic copies of the Holy Quran with stakeholders beginning in 2019.

Hassan Muawyah filed a petition alleging that the Ahmadi community and other non-Muslims continue to distribute and upload copies of the Quran with “distorted Arabic text and mangled translation on the internet and Google Play Store simply to deceive Muslims.”

He claimed that based on the 2019 verdict, he had filed many complaints with the Home Department and police authorities, requesting that action be taken against individuals responsible. The government and the Quran Board were also ordered by the court to monitor the publication of any religious material, including the Quran, and to cross-check it against its original text or authentic meaning, and to take appropriate action if there were any inconsistencies.
