Pakistan’s mega and first High Voltage Direct Current- HVDC project, The Lahore-Matiari transmission line is soon expected will be ready in few month as by April.
As per the official sources, this project was launched under the CPEC- China-Pakistan Economic Corridor that would cost around $1.68 billion and it is the first HVDC project in Pakistan; however, second in the World. Due to this investment by the government the transmission lines could also transmit around 23000 MW for the first time in the summer. Similarly, it is said that the investment was being carried out for up-gradation of over 220 kV and the 132 kV of transmission lines. They also added that the Anti-fog insulators installation on the transmission system has done during past two years.
