Lebanese Army Chief Receives Guard of Honour at GHQ, Islamabad

The Chief of the Lebanese Army, General Rodolphe Haykal, visited Pakistan and was given a formal Guard of Honour upon his arrival at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi.

The ceremony included a well-prepared tri-services contingent, reflecting the official military protocol extended to the visiting commander.

During his visit, General Haykal met Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Asim Munir. The two military leaders discussed important regional security matters, defence cooperation, and opportunities to strengthen ties between the armed forces of both countries.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the discussions focused on improving military-to-military relations and expanding cooperation in training and professional development. Both sides expressed interest in sharing experience and enhancing coordination in areas of mutual benefit.

The meeting also included a review of the regional security situation and ongoing challenges faced by both countries. The leaders emphasized the importance of continued communication and collaboration to support peace and stability in their respective regions.

Officials said the visit reflected the strong and friendly relationship between Pakistan and Lebanon. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining goodwill and expanding cooperation in the defence sector.

The ISPR further stated that such visits play an important role in strengthening international military relations and building trust between armed forces. They also help improve understanding on strategic and security issues.

At the conclusion of the visit, both sides agreed to continue working together in areas such as training exchanges, professional development programs, and defence coordination. The engagement was seen as a positive step toward deepening bilateral military ties and supporting regional peace efforts.
