The leopard that scared housing society members is a wild animal, and the Islamabad Wildlife Management Board (IWMB) is in contact with foreign specialists about relocating it to its natural habitat, according to information provided to a parliamentary committee on Tuesday.
“We believe it came from the wooded area behind Sihala, where reports of leopard sightings were made. The optimum way to release it back into the wild is being discussed with international specialists, Vaqar Zakaria, a member of the IWMB, told the Senate Standing Committee on Climate Change.
The committee convened to discuss a number of concerns, including the leopard that was sauntering through an Islamabad neighbourhood and budgeting plans for the Public Sector Development Fund (PSDP)
