“Lyari Stadium Is Ready to Host the FIFA World Cup, but the Blind Cannot See It,” MNA Nabeel Gabol

PPP leader and MNA Nabeel Gabol has proudly claimed that Lyari’s International Football Stadium in Karachi is ready to host FIFA World Cup matches. Speaking in the National Assembly, he said the ground has the quality and potential, but “the blind cannot see it.”

Gabol highlighted Lyari’s rich football culture and talent. He mentioned that Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari installed Pakistan’s largest screen at the stadium so people could watch the ongoing World Cup matches together. He invited everyone to see the real Lyari, which produces boxers, footballers, and international artists like Maria Baloch.

Lyari, known as Pakistan’s “mini Brazil,” has a deep passion for football. Streets here often turn into playgrounds, and the area has produced many skilled players. Gabol used the moment to counter negative views about the neighbourhood and showcase its positive side.

However, many people point out that while the statement shows great local pride, Lyari still faces real challenges. Issues like poor roads, weak infrastructure, and limited facilities remain. Critics say more investment is needed to actually bring the stadium up to international standards for big events.

Gabol’s remarks have sparked debate. Supporters see it as a boost for Lyari’s image, while others call for practical steps to match the big claims. The statement reminds everyone of the talent hidden in Karachi’s old neighbourhoods and the need for real development.
